wide field astrophotography

The Leo Triplet (also known as the M66 Group) is a small group of galaxies in the constellation Leo. Located about about 35 million light-years (or about 330 quintillion kilometres) from earth, the triplet includes M65, M66 and NGC 3628 aka the Hamburger Galaxy.

A fairly small target in the night sky, the Leo Triplet is a bit of a stretch for my small 61mm telescope but was a fun target to acquire nevertheless. To further challenge this image, atmospheric conditions were less than idea on this night and I hope to improve the image with additional data at a future time.
